School climate assemblies for sustainability competencies’ development in secondary education
EDU4CLIM is an applied research project that seeks to raise awareness and engage children and youngsters in sustainability, through school climate assemblies in 15 Secondary Education Schools in the region of Camp de Tarragona. It encourages innovative democratic processes designed to learn, deliberate and make informed decisions throubh assemblies, where students search for climate change solutions, and propose actions to promote sustainability at local and regional levels.
EDU4CLIM emphasises the strengthening of environmental awareness and the empowerment of children and youth through education, recognising their potential to become ambassadors and change agents for climate action and sustainable development in their environment by sharing knowledge and experiences with their families, local communities and policy makers.

EDU4CLIM GENERAL OBJECTIVE is “To develop, test and implement School Climate Assemblies towards the co-creation of climate change mitigation and adaptation strategies and the development of sustainability competencies”.

EDU4CLIM is possible thanks to an interdisciplinary team of professors and researchers from Universitat Rovira i Virgili that provide knowledge and expertise in different disciplines to conceive an education project that looks towards the global future.
